J. ROGER WOOD
Mr. Wood is co-founder of Wood Warren & Co. and has spent more than 40 years in investment banking and corporate finance. Roger’s experience includes completion of a wide range of investment banking transactions for major U.S. public companies and private companies in the finance, industrial, technology and food/beverage industries, including public and private debt and equity offerings, initial public offerings, merger and acquisition transactions, and various corporate advisory assignments. Roger has advised companies ranging from those in the start-up phase to some of the largest domestic corporations.
Prior to founding Wood Warren & Co. in 1991 Roger was Managing Director of Shearson Lehman Brothers, Inc., in charge of the San Francisco regional office which had responsibility for the firm's corporate finance activities in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Mountain States. Prior to Lehman, Roger was Vice President and shareholder at Kidder, Peabody & Company in charge of that firm's corporate finance group on the West Coast. Roger began his investment banking career and was a Vice President in the investment banking group at Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. in New York City. Roger has also served as an aviation officer in the U.S. Navy. Roger received his BA from the University of Utah and an MBA from New York University.
Mr. Kerester has over 35 years of experience as a banker, principal investor, CFO and Board Director for a variety of companies. Brian has been involved in numerous capital markets transactions including: venture financings, leveraged buyouts, growth capital raises, acquisitions, divestitures, hostile takeovers, IPOs, restructurings and bankruptcies. During his career, Brian has worked with companies across a variety of industries and stages of development, ranging from software start-ups to middle market distribution consolidators to Fortune 500 global manufacturers.
Prior to joining Wood Warren, Brian worked for Bankers Trust, First Boston, McCown De Leeuw, Distribution Dynamics, Collabria and Glaucon Capital Partners. Brian has also served on the board of directors of seven companies, including one listed on the New York Stock Exchange and six owned by private equity firms. Through his various positions as a banker, investor, senior executive, and board member, Brian has substantial experience in developing corporate strategies, implementing business plans, building organizations, and completing a variety of capital markets transactions. Brian earned his BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Columbia Business School.
ALFREDO BARRETO, JR.
Mr. Barreto has over 25 years experience developing, advising, and executing merger and acquisition transactions, raising capital, and providing strategic advice to a variety of public and private companies in various industries. In his career, Alfredo has executed advisory and capital raising transactions totaling over $15 billion in value for a number of companies in industries as varied as energy, healthcare, technology, industrial, financial services, consumer and retail.
Prior to joining Wood Warren & Co., Alfredo was a Managing Director and Head of The Silverfern Group’s West Coast Financial Sponsor coverage practice based in San Francisco. Prior to Silverfern, he founded and was a Managing Director of Consor Advisors that served the consumer, retail, fitness, sport, and footwear sectors. Previously, Alfredo was co-head of the West Coast consumer and retail group for JP Morgan & Co. Alfredo was also previously a member of the mergers and acquisitions group and global retail coverage group with Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York City. Alfredo earned his BA degree in Economics from Columbia College at Columbia University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Mr. Rhodes has over 30 years of diverse experience as a banker with senior executive roles in risk management and market leadership. Prior to joining Wood Warren, Scott stepped outside of banking to serve as Chief Operating Officer of both an integrated poultry company, and most recently, of one of the largest farming companies in the world. In these roles, his experience included banking and finance, overseeing the CFO function, acquisitions, and strategic and tactical leadership across various aspects of the organization.
Scott spent most of his banking career with Wells Fargo building their commercial banking business in Kansas City and then running one of the largest regions in the country for Wells out of Fresno, CA. Scott also worked for Deutsche Bank, Fleet Financial Group and Signet Banking Corporation. Scott has worked with clients across a wide array of industries and profiles to bring insight, develop strategies and help facilitate acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and core growth. Scott has a Bachelors of Science degree in Management from Colorado State University.
Mr. Johnson has almost 30 years of investment banking and private equity investing experience. Craig has invested in and advised a broad range of private and public companies in the technology, media and communications sectors. Craig’s investment banking experience includes working with a variety of companies such as Albertson's, Amgen, Cisco Systems, Credence Systems, EMC, Franklin Covey, Infineon, Infonet, KLA Instruments, Lam Research, Oregon Steel, Red Hook Brewing, Sharper Image, Siemens and Telstra.
Prior to joining Wood Warren & Co., Craig served as head of North American Private Equity at ABN Amro, and previously was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers Securities as the head of its technology and communications practice. Previously, Craig served as Head of Global Technology Investment Banking in the San Francisco office for Smith Barney, and before Smith Barney was head of West Coast Investment Banking at Dean Witter Reynolds. Craig also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and received his BA from Harvard University and his MBA from Stanford University.
DONALD "CHIP" SHIMER
Mr. Shimer has almost 25 years experience as an investment banker and corporate executive. As an investment banker his transaction experience includes public and private equity and debt offerings (domestic and foreign), initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate advisory services.
Prior to joining Wood Warren & Co., Chip was President of Dames & Moore Ventures, a subsidiary of Dames & Moore Group, and was previously a Vice President of International Business with GlobalCenter Inc., a subsidiary of Global Crossing. Chip's responsibilities included corporate acquisitions, post-closing integration, investments in operating entities, and management of subsequent financial performance. Chip earned his BA from the University of California at Los Angeles, and his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
